Introducing a very special project for us; the Harlequin Shrimp love bangle bracelets. These are the only two in existence and they hold a special place in our hearts. What you see is the result of endless hours of planning and creative energy that we poured into this project. Every detail was planned and has a special meaning. As always, we strive to teach people about endangered and precious marine animals while providing stunning pieces of wearable art. These are no exception. The Harlequin Shrimp, like us at Abielle Bijoux, are warriors in ocean conservation. They feed exclusively on coral-eating starfish and help combat the impact of invasive species. In addition to the wonderful work they do, the Harlequin Shrimp are some of the most romantic creatures of the sea. They find a mate and stay together as a pair for life. This is our inspiration for this stunning pair of bracelets. These two pieces are joined together both in style and in stone. The large center stones of each bangle are cut from a single stone found in our home island of Koh Tao. Like the Harlequin Shrimp, these bracelets are also bound together for life. We wish you and your loved one wear these with love and dedication, like that of our tiny little ocean inspiration.
The bracelet itself is hand carved from wax before being cast in solid sterling silver, imitating the natural coral reef environment of the shrimp. The detachable Harlequin Shrimp is also hand carved but is cast in solid 18k rose gold. This feature can be removed with our special silver seashell key and can be worn as a tie/lapel pin or a broach. We have included our signature bubbles that adorn these bracelets and for this project we created them by hand also in solid 18k rose gold. In addition to these precious metals, we have covered the pieces in precious and semi-precious stones as well. The center stones are two gems cut from a single piece of raw smoky quartz found in Koh Tao. Sprinkled throughout the silver cuff and the gold bubbles we have included 8 full carats of fancy colored sapphires that bring sparkle and light to the pieces. Sapphires represent faithfulness and sincerity which sum up the meaning and intention of these bangles. Included with the bracelets are beautiful wooden display boxes that will protect your one-of-a-kind art for a lifetime.
